FOSTER / ADOPTION APPLICATION
Foster/Adoption Process
The foster/adoption process includes a completed application (below), a check of your personal and vet references, permission from landlord (if you rent), a phone interview, and a home visit with all family members and pets present. When feasible, a meet and greet with your potential pet is also recommended.
Adoption Fees
We are an individual, private rescue comprised solely of volunteers. All adoption fees are applied toward caring for our dogs, including vet bills, medications, follow-up visits, rechecks, boarding, shelter pull fees, and transport expenses. Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter, age appropriate shots, rabies, deworming and microchip. If for some reason a dog is unable to be altered prior to adoption a separate agreement will be signed whereby adopter agrees to coordinate with the rescue for return of the dog to visit their clinic for alter. Our ASPCA clinic is located in Glendale Queens.
Our adoption fee is $450 for puppies (dogs up to 10 months), $350 for an adult dog (10 months to 8 years old), and $250 for seniors (8+) or special needs.
Your Responsibilities as a Foster/Adopter
Your new pet will need vet care, while being fostered or after being adopted, including checkups, boosters or titer tests, heartworm and flea/tick preventative medications, etc. Adopting is a lifelong commitment to your new friend. Fostering can also be a long term commitment, and we prefer fosters who are dedicated to opening their home to a dog until that dog finds his/her forever home. All medical costs for a dog in foster will be covered by the rescue. If for some reason the placement of a dog in a foster/adoptive home is not working out, adopter agrees to inform the rescue immediately and allow 5 -7 days for the rescue to locate a new foster/adoptive home.
